UDHAMPUR, Nov 30: A man committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at his house near Supply Morh, here last night.
The deceased was identified as Amar Jit (46), son of Parkash Chand. He consumed some poisonous substance and fell unconscious. The family members noticed him in serious condition and vomiting. They rushed him to District Hospital Udhampur where doctors washed his stomach repeatedly. However, he did not respond to the treatment and died after some time.
Later, the body was sent for postmortem while Police registered a case in this connection.
Reason behind taking extreme step could not be ascertained.
