Bovines smuggling bid foiled

RAMBAN, Nov 30: Police foiled a bovine smuggling bid by rescuing 3 cattle from a Srinagar bound vehicle.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team from Ramban police station laid a naka near Shan Palace and signaled a Mahindra Bolero Pick up vehicle bearing registration number JK02AX-5188 for checking.
On seeing police team, the driver accelerated the vehicle and tried to escape, but the cops chased and intercepted the vehicle near some distance from the naka point.
During checking, police rescued 3 bovine animals from the vehicle, while the accused managed to escape from the spot, leaving behind the vehicle, which was seized by the police.
A case under FIR Number 131/15 under Section 188 RPC has been registered at police station Ramban and manhunt has been launched to nab the accused.
Police team led by SHO Ramban police station Inspector Vinod Kundal made the arrest under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Mohammad Rafiq Choudhary and SSP Ramban Randeep Kumar.
