JAMMU, Dec 1: Executive members of central body of Private Schools met with the Prof Zahoor Ahmed Chatt, Chairman, J&K State Board of School Education, Jammu and apprised him about the problems being faced by the private schools.
While speaking Kamal Gupta, president of the Association said to the Chairman that in our State Private schools are sharing 50% load of the Government and are giving good results in Board and competitive exams.
Gupta demanded representatives of the private schools should be involved while taking any decision pertaining to the Private schools. In the meeting Ajay Gupta State coordinator demanded that screening by the subcommittee should be stopped on the report submitted by the inspection team.
He further demanded that the norms and conditions for affiliation of all Private schools should be at par to the Government schools. Schools running additional Board classes illegally by clubbing their students with another Affiliated Government or private school should be closed as these schools are acting as education mafia and bringing bad name to this poise profession.
Members in deputation from far flung area appealed to the Chairman to charge reasonable inspection and other fee from the Private school as most of the schools are being run by the unemployed educated volunteers in rural, semi urban and far flung areas by charging meager amount. They said in certain cases penalty of Rs.10000/- to Rs. 20000/- have been imposed with a late fee of Rs. 10,000/- which has shattered the economy of low budget schools as none of the agency is giving any type of financial aid to the Private schools.
The Chairman JKBOSE along with Secretary JKBOSE Prof Veena Pandita and other officials listened to the members patiently and assured to all that he will try his best along with his team to stream line the system in JKBOSE for over all betterment of education.
