JAMMU, Dec 2: Former Minister and senior Congress leader Sham Lal Sharma today said that BJP can not escape from its responsibility as its leaders have also admitted that radicalization in the State has increased.
Taking a dig on BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav who has told to the media about increased radicalization, Mr Sharma questioned the ruling party both at Centre and the State, how they can absolve themselves of the constitutional duty of controlling the security situation. Even the top Army Commander as well as concerned agencies expressed their deep concern on the worst ever security situation in Jammu and Kashmir.
He expressed surprise over the statement of BJP leader and said what an illogical assertion he has given while clubbing Kashmir situation with other parts of India. Such a situation if exists in any part of the country, BJP can not shun its responsibility. Their irresponsible attitude towards national security can not be taken lightly.
Mr Sharma alleged that BJP has proved non- performer. This Government is virtually a non-starter and always looking for excuses. It has been the main cause of increased radicalization in Jammu and Kashmir State where they failed to address even core issues like restoration of administrative machinery to attend popular demands and grievances of the masses. He lambasted BJP Government at the Centre for ignoring and neglecting J&K State. He referred to the PM package with no provision of rehabilitation of West Pakistan refugees, petty amount for floods affected people and no special thrust on providing employment to educated unemployed youth.
Mr Sharma said that Jammu is known for its nationalist commitments and secular ethos. He asserted that due to betrayal and U-Turns by BJP after voted to power, it has hurt their dignity and self esteem.
He cautioned State people to remain vigilant from BJP which is pursuing Kashmir agenda, talking about radicalization in State but doing nothing to maintain peace and century old coexistence among all sections of society.
