879 candidates turn up for police constable recruitment rally

LEH, Dec 3: As many as 879 candidate including 586 female candidates turned up for the J&K Police recruitment rally, which was held at 5th Battalion ITBP Campus, Choglamsar today.
For the first time J&K Police used the new method Transparent Recruitment Process (TRP) using high-tech electronic gadget to avoid human intervention in the recruitment process. Firstly candidates form’s data are captured to issue an unique identity card, then the female applicant have to cover a distance of 1 kilometer race in 7 minutes while boys 1 mile in 7 minutes.
The candidates have to pass through an electronic gate which records the timing of the candidates as they pass through wearing a special jacket fitted with electronic chip. Then after completing the first process girls have to complete in shot-put throw followed by chest and height measurement and the entire process is video graphed by number of camera installed at various places.
Interacting with media the Recruitment Board Chairman Additional Director of Police J&K L Mohanty said “Leh is the first district where about 95 per cent candidates are female as compare to other district of J&K which is a healthy sign. He informed that the recruitment process has been going all over the State to recruit 3000 armed polices and 1000 civil polices and 45 post are sanctioned to Leh District, adding that the J&K Government again announced another 5000 posts and so the candidate should prepare from now. He added that there will be no interview except written examination based on the matriculate syllabus having multiple choice questions through OMR sheet with computer marking system again no scope for human intervention.
The recruitment process was done under the strict vigil of Board Chairman Additional Director General of Police L Mohanty, DIG Udumpur Surinder Kumar, SSP Dalip Kumar, Leh SSP Dr Sunil Gupta and SP Shaheen Wahid.
