JAMMU, Dec 4: Terming National Conference (NC) and Congress parties as opportunist , Member Legislative Council and State vice president of BJP advocate Vibodh Gupta has said that decision of implementing National Food Security Act (NFSA) in Jammu and Kashmir is historic step of the State Government.
Addressing media persons here today, Vibodh Gupta said that he was surprised to see statements by NC and Congress leaders over decision of implementation of NFSA in the State. He said that these leaders are beating drums that NFSA is their child but it is unfortunate that these parties always beat drums and did nothing on grounds. He said that if it was child of NC -Congress then why it was not implemented in the State three years back when the same was passed by Indian Parliament.
Expressing shock over the reactions and hoax slogans of these parties, Gupta said that the decision of implementation of NFSA in this State is Historic step of Mufti led coalition Government. He congratulated Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Deputy CM, Dr. Nirmal Singh and Minister for CAPD Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali for this great decision and said that this decision has entitled our people for food rights. He said that under this regime, food has become right of people and poor people will be the biggest beneficiary of NFSA who will get ration on payment of only 2 and 3 Rs per kg. He said that this will be biggest relief to the poor people of this state.
Suggesting opposition parties to digest the development of present regime, BJP MLC said that these people are frustrated with the developmental and welfare initiative of Mufti Govt and they have no other way but to raise hoax slogans to divert the attention of public towards the failures of previous government in redressing public issues.
