Almond up on rising seasonal demand

NEW DELHI, Dec 5:  Almond prices rose by Rs 200 per 40 kg in the national capital today largely on the back of increased offtake by retailers and stockists driven by wedding and winter season demand.
Besides, fall in supplies from overseas markets supported the uptrend.
Almond (California) prices were up by Rs 200 to Rs 22,000 per 40 kg and its kernel rates also higher by Rs 10 to Rs 770-780 per kg.
Marketmen said increased offtake by retailers and stockists due to seasonal demand amid fall in supplies from overseas markets, mainly pushed up almond prices at the dry fruit market here.
Following are today’s quotations (per 40 kgs):
Almond (California) Rs 22,000, Almond (Gurbandi-new) Rs 10,100-10,400; Almond (Girdhi) Rs 6,900-7,100; Abjosh Afghani Rs 15,000-20,000.
Almond Kernel (California-new) Rs 770-780 per kg, Almond Kernel (Gurbandi-new) Rs 780-860 per kg. (PTI)
