RAJOURI, Sept 3: The residents from two villages in Budhal area, which are yet to be electrified by the Government, today lodged  strong protest with the Tehsildar Kotranka and demanded that these neglected areas should also be given attention.
Led by the Sarpanch, Chain Singh of the area, these villagers from Sadda and Mangote after covering nearly 16 kms on foot and some distance by bus, reached the office of Tehsildar Kotranka today and lodged their strong protest. The Sarpanch said that during last 65 years of Independence, the Government and concerned MLAs have failed to provide electricity to the people of this area.
Sarpanch said not only electricity, even the Government has failed to provide kerosene oil to the hapless villagers from this remote belt of district Rajouri. The villagers after trekking down 16 kms on-foot come for taking ration and K.oil instead of 5 lt per month, they are provided hardly 3 lt a month per ration card and even sometimes they go back high and dry. The Kerosene oil is black-marketed and there is no check on K.oil dealers of the area by the CAPD officials. The children are unable to study during nights as they cannot get enough fuel for kerosene-lamps.
The village head demanded that these villagers be provided at least 7 lt K.oil every month and enough supply of ration. He strongly demanded road connectivity and electricity in the area besides filling up of vacant posts of teachers at local schools.
