Gupta asks Cong to come out clean on interlocutors’ report

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Sept 3: The former Union Minister and MLA, Prof Chaman Lal Gupta has asked the Congress to come out in clear cut terms about their stand regarding the highly controversial report of the interlocutors as also that of the Sageer Committee, which are the babies of the UPA Government at the Centre.
He has also sought an explanation both from New Delhi as also the State Government to tell the people that who is funding the activities of these “Wisemen” after submission of their report and also their locus standi in enjoying the Government hospitality when they had completed their task several months back.
Prof  Gupta said that in the reports of the interlocutors and that of the Sageer Committee attempts have been made to create uncertainty even on those issues which have been settled long back.  These also include the abolishing of the permit system, change of the nomenclatures of that of Sader-e-Riyasat to Governor and Prime Minister to Chief Minister of the State, in addition to provisions  for extension of the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court, Election  Commission of India and also that of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India by seeking the reviewing of all other articles and Central laws which were applied to J&K after 1953.  Moreover, an attempt is being made to make Article 370 a permanent feature although it was incorporated in the Statue Book as a Temporary Provision with assurance that it would wither away with the passage of time.
Prof Gupta pointed out that earlier also several such like Commissions and Committees were appointed.  These also included the Gagandav-Gadkar Commission on regional imbalances, Sikiri Commission, Wazir Commission and several such like others but recommendations of all these Commissions and Committees were put under the carpet as they were not to the liking of the rulers of Kashmir.
But it was strange that lot of fuss is being created on the highly controversial recommendations of “Wisemen” and that of Sageer Committee, he added and warned that nationalist people of the State would not allow to weaken the ties of this State with the rest of the country to   appease the elements infected by the obnoxious Two Nations Theory of late Jinnah.  Already much harm has been done and there have been lot of sufferings and losses but for follies of the congress leadership and communal mindset of their fellow travelers, he pointed out.
