136 kanal forest land retrieved in Nowshera

RAJOURI, Dec 11: A team of Forest officials from Nowshera Forest Division today retrieved about 136 kanals of forest land from the encroachers in Lamberi area of Rajouri district.
Official sources said that a team of Forest officials led by Neelima Shah (ACF) organised operation under the supervision of Divisional Forest Officer Rajouri, Dr A D Singh and Conservation of Forests, West Circle Sameer Bharti retrieved 21 Kanals of Forest land from hands of 7 encroachers in compartment No. 103/K, 102/K & 143/N of Rajal block.
In another operation in Sunderbani Range, Vinod Sharma Range Officer accompanied by field staff retrieved 115 Kanals of forest land from the occupation of encroachers in Compartment No. 41/D, 43/D, 47/D, and 53/D falling in Channi, Siot, Thandapani and Dharoon/Prat areas of Sunderbani Range. In this operation one under construction Kacha structure and stone Wall fencing was dismantled on the spot.
The operation was coordinated at circle level by senior officers. A warning has also been issued by the Forest Department to the persons involved against any such attempt in future. Further, DFO Nowshera has ordered the fencing of retrieved area to prevent from being again encroached in future.
