KATHUA, Dec 13: Joint Action Committee (JAC) of All J&K General Category Sabhas and Biradaris of District Kathua took out a protest rally here exhorting all right thinking people to raise their voice for the implementation of J&K High Court’s Judgment declaring ‘Reservation in Promotions’ as unconstitutional and illegal.
The committee members said that this fight against injustice and reverse discrimination is not targeted against any community, caste or creed. Any attempt by anyone to politicize and trivialize this fight against injustice as an inter community clash will be condemned in the strictest possible manner, they added.
Addressing the gathering, Convener Ankur Sharma lamented on the negative vote bank politics being played by the Ministers and MLAs on the issue and issued a no holds barred warning to the Legislators to either support their cause in national interest or perish politically.
He said that if the Government fails to implement the judgment of the High Courts or even will make an attempts to bring an ordinance or a constitutional Amendment overriding the High Court judgment, Joint Action Committee would further intensify its movement. He further added that if other States can abolish reservation in promotions, then why J&K can not move in the same direction that too after the High Court judgment.
Representatives of all General Category Sabhas and Biradaris vociferously attacked the political parties taking sides on the basis of vote bank politics and undermining judiciary and judicial independence.
Presidents of Brahman Sabha, Rajput Sabha, Mahajan Sabha, Singh Sabha and other General category organizations exhorted their community members to politically wipe out politicians and political parties favouring reservation in promotions.
Meanwhile, Joint Action Committee also supported the demand of All J&K General Category Employees Welfare Forum for immediate implementation of High Court’s Judgment for no reservations in promotions and quashing of all illegal orders issued therein.
