JAMMU, Dec 14: Bari Brahmana Industrial Association (BBIA) has urged upon the Power Development Department (PDD) to restore pending power connections of the industrial units.
In a meeting of Bari Brahmana Industries Association held under the chairmanship of Lalit Mahajan, president BBIA, the members discussed the casual attitude of PDD towards Industrial sector with respect to clearance of pending Power sanction cases of 7800 HP Power Load of new connections / additional Power requirement of the Units located in SIDCO Industrial Complex, Bari Brahmana from last two years.
The members present showed strong resentment towards the delaying tactics adopted by PDD for not holding the regular meetings for the sanction of new connections/additional load of the Industrial Units in spite of Govt Order No. 152-PDD of 2011 dated 28-04-2011 by the virtue of which the regular monthly meeting should be held to clear the pending cases of Power sanction.
The unit holders are suffering very badly as they have already invested crores of rupees on the plant and machinery and sitting idle due to non release of power connections. Whenever the members approach the Department to know the status of their cases, their request is always turned down with a lame excuse of line constrains. It is a matter of great concern that the officials of the PDD are sleeping for the last two years to up-grade the infrastructure.
It is pertinent to mention here that on one side Industries Minister is taking steps on war footing basis for the rapid Industrialization in the State to create the employment opportunities but on the other side the negative attitude of the PDD is creating hurdles in the growth of Industrial sector.
BBIA appealed the Dy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh who is also incharge Power Minister and Minister for Industries and Commerce Chander Prakash to intervene into the matter and issue necessary orders to clear the pending cases.
The meeting was also attended by other office bearers including Rahul Bansal, Varun Singla, Ajay Langer- general secretary, PS Jaggi and Viraaj Malhota.
