JAMMU, Dec 15: The State Government has accorded sanction for re-constitution of the State Level Screening Committee (SLSC) for the implementation of the Prime Minister’s 15- Point Programme for Welfare of Minorities in the State.
Headed by the Chief Secretary as Chairman, the SLSC will comprise Administrative Secretaries of Home, School Education, Housing and Urban Development Department, Finance Department, GAD, Technical Education Department, Social welfare Department, RDD and Panchayati Raj and Revenue Department as members. Besides, heads of various departments, like DGP, Commissioner Municipal Corporation Jammu/Srinagar, Director Rural Development Jammu/Kashmir, Director Social Welfare Jammu/Kashmir and Director Technical Education, J&K, are other ex-officio members of the SLSC while MP Thupstan Chewang, MP Mehbooba Mufti, MP Mohammad Fayaz, MLA Sat Sharma and MLA Javid Gussain Baig are non-official members of the screening committee.
The committee shall meet at least once every quarter and send quarterly progress report to the Ministry of Minority Affairs by 15th of the next quarter.
