Sajad stresses on full utilization of funds, timely completion of projects

DODA, Dec 15: Minister for Science and Technology and Animal Husbandry , Sajad Gani Lone chaired a meeting to assess the implementation of the decisions of the District Development Board Doda, here today.
While stressing on the cent percent utilization of the funds available under various schemes, the Minister impressed upon all the heads of the departments and sector officers present in the meeting to ensure implementation of all the DDB decisions in stipulated timeline .He asked for out of box thinking and innovations to bring out revolutionary change in the performance of the departments.
Taking a review of the projects under tourism sector, Mr. Lone said that for generating the additional Government accommodation at Doda a project report for the development of JKTDC building near Dak banglow Doda should be submitted at an earliest and asked the DC Doda to do the needful in this regard. He also asked the Deputy Commissioner to project the pending un irrigated villages of the district for inclusion in the proposed lift irrigation schemes in consultations with the legislators.
Stressing on the development of the futuristic projects especially in PHE and R&B sector so that project could withstand the changing vagaries of time, Mr. Lone announced constitution of a technical committee at district level which will have the mandate of submitting the technical report of the future viability of the kandi canal irrigation project in the district.
On the demand of the legislator over the less width of Kahara-Tanta road than the prescribed norms, the minister asked DC Doda to constitute a committee to demarcate the land acquired for the road and asses the causes for any such diversion from norms so that the responsibilities could be fixed.
Mr Lone also took a detailed review of various other mega projects in Doda such as Steel Girder Bridge at Thatri, Shiva Dal Steel Girder Bridge, Community Hall Doda, Court complex Doda truck terminal Doda, and various PHC Buildings and directed the concerned executive agencies to stick to the time lines fixed for completion of these mega projects.
He aslo directed the Deputy Commissioner to pursue the case in consultation with Divisional Commissioner Jammu for the release of pending amount for the restoration of National Highway -244.
Earlier, District Development Commissioner, Doda Bhupinder Kumar presented a detailed report of the physical and financial progress achieved under District Plan, State plan, Centrally sponsored Schemes and Mega projects in the District. He said that out of an approved outlay of Rs 156.10 crore, an amount of Rs. 49.93 crore was made available and the expenditure ending November this year is Rs. 36.05 crore, registering an expenditure of 72.20% .
Vice Chairperson, J&K State Advisory Board for Development of G&B,Ch Zaffar Ali, Vice Chairperson J&k State Advisory Board for Welfare & Development of Scheduled Castes, Bushan Lal Dogra, legislators, G.M Saroori, Shakti Raj Parihar, Daleep Singh Parihar, Neelam Kumar Langeh, Naresh Gupta, Shyam Lal Bhagat, Divisional Commissioner Jammu Dr Pawan Kotwal and heads of concerned departments were present in the meeting.
