LOS ANGELES, Dec 18: Defending her ex-husband Sean Penn in support of his defamation lawsuit against Lee Daniels singer Madonna said that the actor has never abused her physically.
The couple had a tumultuous marriage but according to the 57-year-old “Crazy for You” hitmaker the Oscar-winning star never “struck” her, reported E! online.
“While we certainly had more than one heated argument during our marriage, Sean has never struck me, ‘tied me up,’ or physically assaulted me, and any report to the contrary is completely outrageous, malicious, reckless and false,” the singer stated, per court documents.
Madonna also clarified the reports that came out in 1987 saying Penn hurt her with bat calling them “completely outrageous, malicious, reckless and false”.
She called allegations that a December 1989 incident that “purportedly resulted in Sean’s arrest” were also false.
Penn sued Daniels for USD 10 million in September after the filmmaker and Empire co-creator characterized him as an abuser in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. (PTI)
