JAMMU, Sept 4: The holy Gangbal yatra will start from September 21 and it will conclude on September 26.
This was stated by All Parties Migrant Coordination Committee (APMCC) chairman Vinod Pandita here today. The APMCC which is organizing the annual yatra said that for the second time the Charri Mubarak will be flagged off on the beginning of the yatra.
Yatra in charge Sandeep Bhat said that after performing havan at 14500 feet high Gangbal lake which is linked to five thousand year old cultural history of Kashmiri Pandits, the yatra will leave towards Kangan on September 26.
He said advance party will leave for Harmukh Gangbal to make shelter and food arrangements.
He said the yatra which had become defunct during militancy was revived by APMCC in 2009 and since then it is being run every year by the organization. The Gangbal lake also known as Harmukh Ganga has the same religious significance which holy Ganga has. This year’s yatra has also another significance as the Gang Ashtami falls on September 23, said Mr Bhat.
