The Sub Judge had directed SSP Reasi Raghubir Singh to hold an inquiry into the allegations within a month. After completing inquiry, the SSP submitted report to the court in which he stated that for an in-depth probe into the case, a FIR was required to be registered.

Meanwhile, Reasi police had approached the court for cancellation of bail of Magotra and Khajuria after the complainant Shakuntla Devi recorded her statement in the court under Section 164 CrPC alleging that she had been threatened by the accused of dire consequences if she persisted with the complaint.
The complainant had alleged before the court and the police that Magotra and Khajuria along with other associates and Revenue officials had prepared fake attorneys of her name by producing another woman in the court and sold her prime land in Katra town worth crores of rupees to some influential persons.
