Searches near LoC in Nowshera

JAMMU, Sept 4: Police and Army today conducted searches at village Dhanaka, close to the Line of Control (LoC) in Nowshera tehsil of Rajouri district after some students of Government Middle School, Dhanaka reportedly saw a group of militants in the area near their institution.
Police said some students observed movement of four militants near their school and informed the teachers, who sounded police and Army.
Police parties from Rajouri headed by SSP Mubassir Latifi and Army teams rushed to the spot and started a search operation in the area.
Police said the school students gave different versions. While some of them claimed to have spotted four to seven militants, others said they saw lone militant. They claimed that the militants were carrying weapons.
According to police, the Army personnel inspected fencing in the area, which was intact. However, police and Army continued searches in the area but no traces of militants were observed anywhere. The searches were stopped in the night and would resume tomorrow morning, police said.
The GMS Dhanaka is located close to the LoC.
