NEW DELHI : The Lok Sabha was today adjourned briefly following protests by Congress and Left Members who demanded resignation of Finance Minister Arun Jaitley for his alleged involvement in irregularities in the functioning of DDCA.
As soon as the House met at 1100 hrs, Speaker Sumitra Mahajan disallowed the adjournment motion raised by nine Members on separate issues. The Speaker allowed Congress Member Jyotiraditya Scindia to raise his issue but he was interrupted by BJP Member Rajiv Pratap Rudy who said that Congress intentionally wants to disrupt the proceedings. On this, the Congress Members trooped into the Well and started raising slogans against the government and demanded resignation of the Finance Minister. A visibly upset Speaker said, “You don’t want to run the House. So I am adjourning it for 20 minutes.”
