Taiwan stocks end down; techs, banks lead

TAIPEI, Sept 5: Taiwan stocks shed 1.1 percent on Wednesday, joining other regional bourses in caution ahead of a European Central Bank meeting on Thursday and U.S. payrolls data on Friday.
The main TAIEX index ended 83.91 points lower at 7,367.44, weighed by technology stocks and banks, both of which lost more than 1 percent.
The Taiwan dollar firmed slightly to stand at T$29.849.
Foreign investors were net sellers on Tuesday, bringing their total selling to T$1.7 billion this month.
