JAMMU, Dec 23: Governor N. N. Vohra, has greeted the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the auspicious occasion of Eid-i-Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) and expressed sincere hope that this auspicious occasion would be the harbinger of harmony, peace, progress and prosperity in the State.
In a message of greetings, the Governor said that Islam teaches us the values of brotherhood, simplicity, compassion and morality, all of which need to be vigorously inculcated in today’s trouble torn world.
The Governor prayed for the well-being and happiness of the people of the State.
Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has also extended greetings to the people on the auspicious occasion of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (SAW), to be observedon Thursday.
In his message, Mufti Sayeed described Islam as the religion of peace and Prophet Mohammad (SAW) as an apostle of love, affection and brotherhood. “Almighty Allah had sent Prophet Mohammad (SAW) as Rehmatal-lil-Alimeen (mercy to the mankind),” he added.
Reminding people of the holy Prophet’s (SAW) teachings, the Chief Minister said the holy Prophet (SAW) had tremendous love for humanity in general and compassion for poor and needy in particular. “I pray to Almighty Allah to reignite our heart and souls with the love of the Prophet (SAW) of Islam,” he added.
