Rana seeks job, compensation for Udhampur family

UDHAMPUR, Dec 24: Provincial President National Conference Jammu Devender Singh Rana today visited Udhampur and met Bola Ram, father of the three explosion victims to personally condole their death.
He consoled the bereaved family and conveyed condolences on behalf of the National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah and Working President Omar Abdullah.
Bola Ram of Gandri Village, presently residing at Birma Pul Udhampur, lost his three teenage sons, when they had ventured out to a nearby Nallah yesterday where some explosive material was reportedly lying in scrap.
The Provincial President sought expeditious investigations to find out the circumstances leading to this unfortunate incident.
While saying no amount can compensate the irreparable loss, Mr Rana urged the Army to rise to the occasion and provide adequate compensation and job of a civilian nature to one member of the family in the armed forces, which has suffered a huge tragedy. “The army has a tradition of providing liberal help in such cases and we hope they will extend all possible assistance to the family earnestly”, he added.
On its part, Mr Rana said, the State Government should also pay ex-gratia to the hapless family.
The Provincial President expressed solidarity with the bereaved family and prayed for peace to departed souls.
Mr Rana was accompanied by Provincial Vice President Jugal  Mahajan, District President Ramban Sajjad Shaheen and former MLA Chaman Lal.
