PHE CP workers go unpaid, stage protest

CP workers of PHE department staging protest demonstration at Samba on Wednesday.

SAMBA, Sept 5: The Community Participation (CP) workers of the PHE in district Samba held protest demonstration at the Divisional Headquarters here demanding release of the their pending wages for the months together.
A large number of workers assembled at the PHE complex here and held demonstration shouting slogans against the higher authorities. They were demanding immediate release of their pending wages. They pointed out that they are not paid regularly and senior officers do not bother about their wages. They alleged victimization and exploitation of the cadre.
President of the CP Workers Association, Surinder Singh, alleged that during these hard times, the poor workers remain unpaid for months together and lose interest in their job. The higher authorities should ensure their wages before 5th of every month. He also demanded that PDD issued orders of the regularization of their workers. The PHE daily wagers/ CP workers should also be regularized.
He further alleged that no DPC has been conducted in last 9 years at provincial level. The low paid workers should be promoted so that those at the class IV level could also get next promotion. He further demanded that low paid employees should not be transferred away from their respective areas.
Others who addressed the gathering included general secretary A K Singh, Kishore Singh, Maqbool Ahmed, Bupesh Saini and Roop Chand.
