JAMMU, Dec 25: Miran Sahib police arrested a notorious criminal, who was evading his arrest since long.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team from Miran Sahib police station conducted a raid and arrested an absconder, who was evading his arrest for the past several years.
The accused has been identified as Mushtaq Ahmed alias Sonu, son of Abdul Rasheed, a resident of village Phinder, RS Pura.
He was involved in 11 cases including attempt to murder, snatching, bovine smuggling, kidnapping, assault, trespass and Arms Act registered with Kathua, Bishnah and Miran Sahib police stations. A number of warrants were issued, but he was evading arrest since long.
Further investigation into the cases registered against the accused is going on.
Police team led by SHO Miran Sahib police station SI Hilal Azhar made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Harjeet Singh, SP Headquarters Ramesh Kotwal and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
