Week long special drive against violation of traffic rules begins

JAMMU, Dec 25: On the direction of SP Traffic Rural, Dushyant Sharma, a week long special drive has been launched from today against violators of traffic rules.
The drive has been launched in the wake of Christmas festival and the eve of New Year, when huge rush is witnessed at all the Tourist places and more cases of violation of traffic rules, particularly driving in drunken condition, over speeding etc come to the notice.
The drive is being coordinated by J S Sumbrian, Dy SP Traffic Samba-Kathua; Madan Lal Sharma, Dy SP Rajouri-Poonch and DTI of Traffic Rural Jammu.
During this special drive, from today to December 31, Traffic Police is keeping a regular check over the violations and stern action is being taken against those violating the Traffic rules.
Breath Analyzers are being used to detect the persons driving vehicle in drunken condition while notices are being pasted on the wrongly parked vehicles.
Pertinent to mention that Traffic Police has recently introduced this practice of pasting notices, under section 133 MVA under rule 20/21 J&K MVA Section 117/122 MVA for action under law against the defaulters.
Besides, public in general is also being requested to cooperate with Traffic Police and obey the traffic rules by not indulging in any violation, which can result accidents and inconvenience to the public.
