JAMMU, Dec 26: Three persons including a 15-year old boy were killed while three persons were injured in separate road mishaps in various parts of the district.
According to a police spokesperson, a 45-year-old man was hit and seriously injured this evening by an unknown tipper on Jammu-Akhnoor Road, when he was travelling on his bicycle. The blood-ridden man identified as Rajinder Singh (50) son of Gara, a resident of Taryal (Kanachak), was immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, where he was declared as brought dead by the doctors. The body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of the hospital for conducting postmortem tomorrow.
In another road mishap that occurred at Satwari Chowk in City outskirts, a 15-year-old boy identified as Banpreet Singh son of Joginder Singh, a resident of Govindpur (Chattha), was crushed under the wheels of a minibus when while boarding off the vehicle he fell on the road. The dead body of the boy was shifted to mortuary room of the hospital for conducting autopsy tomorrow.
In Jourian area of Akhnoor Tehsil of the district, four pedestrians were injured, one of them seriously, when an unknown vehicle hit them this evening at about 6.20. The injured were immediately shifted to CHC Jourian from where they were referred to SDH Akhnoor. One of the injured identified as Anil Kumar son of Tirath Ram, a resident of Muthi, succumbed to his injuries in SDH Akhnoor and his dead body shifted to mortuary room of the hospital while the other three injured identified as Shubam Sharma (18), son of Satpal, Sumit Kumar son of Bansi Lal and Akash Sudan son of Satpal, all residents of Muthi, were later referred to GMCH Jammu for specialized treatment.
In all cases the concerned police have taken cognizance of the matter.
