Only 2 POK residents arrive, 11 Kashmiris cross to other side of LoC

SRINAGAR: Only two residents of Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (POK) arrived here today while 11 Kashmiris crossed over to other side of the Line of Control (LoC), official sources said here.

As many as 14 returnees also cross sides in the last Karvan-e-Aman bus of 2015 at the Kaman post, the last Indian military post on this side of the LoC in Uri sector, sources said.

They said two POK residents arrived here to meet their relatives, separated in 1947 due to partition. However, three Kashmiris, including a woman, who had one to POK to meet their relatives also returned to their homes.

Eleven Kashmiri residents, including two women and six children, crossed to other side of LoC in the bus, operating between Srinagar and Muzaffarabad, capital of POK since April 7, 2005.

They said 11 POK residents who had arrived here in the previous buses also returned to their homes after completing stay here. They included four women. (AGENCIES)
