Jammu, Dec 29: Sunil Dimple, president, Jammu West Assembly Movement has demanded making and developing Jammu as a ‘smart city’ and grant of district status to Jammu West Assembly constituency.
Addressing a press conference today Dimple demanded the BJP-PDP Government to show its progress report card, tell the people of the Jammu West Assembly constituency about the nine months achievement of this Government.
He alleged that no development works are being conducted by JMC, PWD (R&B), ERA, PHE, and the condition of the roads, lanes, drains is dilapidated which has created traffic problems in the Jammu city in general and the West Assembly constituency in particular.
He asked what measures this Government has taken to solve the traffic problems in the Jammu city and alleged that no flyovers and circular roads are being constructed by this Government and the people are badly suffering while the sitting MLAs, MPs and MLCs have maintained a silence.
Sunil Dimple alleged the West Assembly constituency has been turned into the constituency of “dumps and garbage”.
Dimple demanded for announcement of the special financial package for the reconstruction of the over-flowing dilapidated drains and nallahs.
He alleged the PWD (R&B) has given blacktopping contracts at very high rates to the contractors for BT. Only few main roads have been blacktopped from where VIPs pass and the inner roads have been left without black topping.
Dimple said from the first week of January the agitation will be started for the district status to the West Assembly constituency.
