Police nabs drug peddlers, snatchers, thieves during special drive: SP Hqrs

JAMMU, Dec 29: Police have achieved a major success in RS Pura Sub Division by nabbing absconders, drug peddlers, snatchers, thieves, bovine smugglers and other criminals during a special drive.
This was stated by SP Headquarters RC Kotwal during a press conference here at RS Pura police station.
Briefing about the cases, Mr Kotwal said that RS Pura police arrested an accused identified as Munshi Ram, son of Kaka Ram of Nikowal who was absconding since long. He was arrested in a case registered under FIR Number 141/15 under Section 366 and 376 (D) RPC with police station RS Pura. Earlier, two accused persons namely Keemti Lal, son of Thakur Dass and Bodh Raj, son of Jagan Nath, both residents of Ward Number 7, RS Pura who were involved in the same case were arrested and final charge sheet will be produced in the Court of Law, SP added.
He further stated that RS Pura police also arrested two notorious criminals identified as Manoj Kumar Moja, son of Ashok Kumar and Sunny Kumar, son of Jog Raj, both residents of Ward Number 4, RS Pura who were evading arrest in various heinous criminal cases under different sections of law. SP added that the The accused Sunny Kumar has been booked under PSA and has been lodged in Central Jail Jammu. Moreover PSA has been recommended for Manoj Kumar @ Moja also in the interest of larger public interest, he added.
SP Headquarters further stated that some snatchers snatched the purse of a lady namely Tajinder Kour, wife of Surinder Singh of Dablehar, RS Pura which consists Rs 7000 cash, golden ear rings, ATM Card and mobile phone on December 20 in Miran Sahib area.
The lady reported the matter to police station Miran Sahib and a case under FIR Number 189/15 under section 382 RPC was registered and manhunt was launched to nab the snatchers.
On specific information, police team from Miran Sahib police station conducted raid in Sidhar area and nabbed the purse snatchers. From their possession, police recovered stolen gold ear rings.
The accused have been identified as Jatinder Singh alias Shanu, son of Bhola Singh and Lakhbir Singh alias Pannu, son of Bua Ditta, both residents of village Sidhar, RS Pura.
During preliminary investigations, it came to fore that the duo had committed series of purse snatchings in Bahu Fort, Narwal, Channi, Satwari, Super Speciality Hospital Road, Railway Station,  Bari Brahmna, etc, he added.
Further interrogation is going on and more recoveries are likely to be made in near future.
He maintained that Miran Sahib police did very good work in recovery of narcotics and 6 FIRs were registered. Miran Sahib police also arrested Bovine Smugglers and numbers of bovine were rescued. A Case FIR No. 120/2015 was registered.
SP Headquarters said that a complainant was lodged by Kuldeep Raj, son of Kartar Chand of Ramdisha that during the intervening night of December 26 and 27, some unidentified persons barged into his shop and decamped with Rs 700 cash, coins and cigarette packets.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 175/15 under Section 457 and 380 RPC was registered at Bishnah police station and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a naka was raised by the police at Mehmood Pur and signaled a Maruti car bearing registration number JK14A-4786 to stop for checking.
On seeing police cops, the driver accelerated the vehicle and escaped from the spot. Sensing something fishy, the cops chased and intercepted the vehicle near some distance from the naka point.
During checking of the documents, it came to fore that the vehicle was stolen and when questioned, the occupants broke down and confessed to commit the thefts.
The accused have been identified as Simran Khan, son of Bashir Ahmed Khan of Jakhani, district Udhampur and Joginder Kumar, son of Shiv Dass of Pancheri, district Udhampur.
On their disclosure, police recovered cash, coins, 4 mobiles, 19 mobile chargers, 3 mobile batteries, two rods and one more car bearing registration number JK02G-7601. Both the cars were seized under Section 550 CrPC and 207 MV Act. More recoveries are expected from the accused in the near future.
Police teams led by SHO RS Pura police station Inspector Bushan Manhas, SHO Miran Sahib police station SI Hilal Azhar and SHO Bishnah police station Inspector Kulbir Singh Choudhary made the arrests under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Harjeet Singh, SP Headquarters Ramesh Kotwal and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
