Prabhu to visit J&K from Jan 1

JAMMU, Dec 29: Railways Minister Suresh Prabhu will review pace of work on Katra-Banihal rail line, increasing frequency of DMUs on Jammu-Katra and Banihal-Udhampur and other decisions pertaining to the Railways during his two days visit to Jammu and Kashmir on January 1 and 2.
Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh, State BJP president Sat Sharma, CA and other senior functionaries of Railways, State Government and BJP leaders will accompany Prabhu during his two days visit.
Prabhu will visit holy cave shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi ji on January 1 followed by review of pace of work on Katra-Banihal railway line. He will also assess the demand for introduction of more DMUs in the State including Jammu-Katra and Banihal-Baramulla due to increased demand of the services.
The Railways had recently made Jammu as Railways Division after the matter was taken up with Prabhu by Dr Nirmal Singh.
Prabhu will return to New Delhi in the evening of January 2.
