IG assures redressal of people’s grievances

SAMBA, Dec 30: In a bid to cement the mutual relationship and trust between public and Police, and to redress the people grievances IGP Jammu Range Danesh Rana, accompanied by Joginder Singh, Sr. Superintendent of Police Samba, Faisal Qureshi, Addl. SP Samba, S. S. Sambyal, SDPO Vijaypur and SI Bansi Lal, Incharge SHO Ramgarh met a cross section of people at Ramgarh and sought their views how to improve police public relations. He also sought their total cooperation in eradicating the crime from the society.
A large number of people from all walks of life which included Sarpanchs, Panchs, retired Personnel and prominent including ladies of different areas of Ramgarh participated.
During the meeting, a live interaction was held in which participants highlighted the problems faced by them and sought their redressal at appropriate level. The participants lauded the initiatives of the local Police and maintained that such type of gestures would definitely help in promoting peace & tranquility in the district and would help in bridging the gap between the people and the administration. They further maintained that such initiatives are sure to strengthen the rapport between Police & public and in mitigating the sufferings of the people. They also assured of their full co-operation and support to the administration.
Highlighting the problems people demanded shiting of Wine Shop at Ramgarh to some other location, special recruitment drive for the youth of border belt, enhancement of transport especially in the peak hours, taking up of measures to save youth from drug addiction,  reducing of traffic congestion on Ramgarh-Vijaypur road, validity of Character Certificate be increased from three months to at least one year, increase of honorarium of SPOs/VDC SPOs and launching of drive against passenger vehicles playing loud music.
In his address IGP while complimenting the public for sparing their precious time to attend the meeting on a short notice assured them that their problems would be discussed with higher authorities of Police in length and every effort would be made for their timely redressal. Similarly, problems pertaining to Civil Administration, the participants were fully assured that these problems would be brought into the notice of administration and sincere efforts would be made to redress them.
SSP Samba also assured the public that Police will make sincere efforts to eradicate social evils from the society but stressed that the cooperation of public would be required in this regard. Moreover, the people of the area were intimated that aspirants for the post of Police Constables have to work hard in order to qualify the physical tests which would be held on January 10 & 11, 2016 at DPL Samba.
