Lal Singh inspects Laboratories, Blood Bank at SMGS hospital

JAMMU, Dec 31: Minister for Health and Medical Education, ARI and Trainings Choudhary Lal Singh has asked the Shri Maharaja Gulab Singh (SMGS) hospital administration to upgrade the Operation Theatres, Laboratories and Blood Bank with latest infra facilities for facilitating the people with quality healthcare facilities.
This was stated by the Minister while interacting with the officers after inspecting the medicare facilities being provided to the people at Blood Bank and Laboratories in SMGS hospital, here today.
Principal Government Medical College Zahid Gillani, Director Health Services Dr. Baljeet Singh Pathania, Director Family Welfare Dr. Baldev Raj Sharma, Mission Director NHM Dr. Mohan Singh, Deputy Director Health Services Dr. Ajay Gupta and Medical Superitendent SMGS hospital Dr. Dara Singh accompanied the Minister.
Choudhary Lal Singh said that Government is making all out efforts to upgrade all laboratories and Blood Banks in Government hospitals with latest infrastructural facilities. He asked the hospital administration to prepare inventory of the functional and non-functional machines installed in Blood Bank and Laboratory and Theatres. He directed for making in and around areas of the Laboratory, Theatre and Blood Banks neat and clean. He strsssed for cleanliness of all wards and threatres three times a day including toilet blocks so that people do not face any inconvencience.
Later, the Minister also interacted with the volunteer blood donors in blood bank of the SMGS hospital and emphasized the value of voluntary blood donation.
The Minister stressed upon the doctors and the NGOs to give awareness to the general masses so that the donors will increase and later take great care of the donors when they also need blood.
Choudhary Lal Singh stressed upon the doctors to take strong care of the ailing humanity and serve the people.
