UDHAMPUR, Jan 1: A young housewife attempted suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at the house of her in-laws at Londina, Battel Balliyan, here today.
The woman, identified as Anu (22), wife of Jeevan Kumar, was rushed to District Hospital Udhampur and her condition was stated to be stable due to timely treatment. Cause of provocation could not be ascertained even as Police has registered a case in this connection for further investigation.
Meanwhile, a youth was critically injured after being hit by an unidentified vehicle near bridge over Railway Track in Roan-Domail Mail area.
The victim, identified as Asim Ali (35), son of Farjan Ali of West Bengal State, was immediately shifted to District Hospital Udhampur.
