JAMMU, Jan 1: Senior PCC leader and former Minister Sham Lal Sharma today alleged that people of the State have been frustrated with the BJP-PDP power gimmicks.
While addressing Block Congress Committee (BCC) delegates and Block Youth Committee members on new year, Sham Lal launched scathing attack on BJP and blamed it for creating political instability in sensitive State like Jammu and Kashmir which already has suffered immensely due to Pakistan’s terrorist activities. He said the masses have been deprived of their rightful dues and given no sigh of relief by the ruling alliance.
Mr Sharma alleged that BJP which now stands exposed for its communal agenda follows its nefarious political designs to divide people on communal lines to grab power through back-door as per reports coming about bargaining for Chief Minister chair for the sake of any betterment of Jammu people who voted it into power.
He said that BJP failed utterly to perform and fulfill its electoral commitments, and it has started floating issues such as Mandir-Mandal, controversies like hoisting J&K Flag whereas, it remains no more secret, BJP hungry for power can compromise with anyone to betray the State people. Mr Sharma, called upon his party workers, delegates to meet the masses and make them aware of the emerging political situation.
Congress leader said Kashmiris virtually rejected BJP and within one year in Jammu too, people are frustrated by its leaders. Let the ULB and Panchayat elections be held, BJP will perish. He said Congress will play very crucial role in the days to come, since people of the three regions of J&K State have realized that only this party can serve them and guard their interests.
Ex-MP Madan Lal Sharma also addressed the delegates and reminded the party workers about their role as nationalist and secular force. He said in each political crisis Congress has re-emerged as more popular national party. He said BJP and PDP alliance is just guest of few days, as signals emit that at any time PDP can divorce them to show their worth. Therefore PCC leadership should to remain vigilant to keep close eyes on the developments. He said, unity of secular forces is the only solution to State problems, and Congress has its vital role to play.
Senior leaders Kanta Bhan, Shabir Ahmed Khan, Manmohan Singh, Kuldip Verma, Pranav Shagotra, Satish Sharma, Chetan Wanchoo, Ram Saroop, Baldev Sharma and Subash Langar also spoke on the occasion.
