SKUAST-TAJ discusses issues of teaching fraternity, campus

JAMMU, Jan 1: Executive body meeting of SKUAST- Teaching Association Jammu, was held today under the chairmanship of president Vikas Sharma at Main Campus Chatha Jammu, where several agenda items, pertaining to the Association and teaching fraternity were discussed.
During the meeting, Dr Vikas urged the State Government to look into the issue of road connectivity of the university to the nearest town as the present road was in bad shape for the last few years. SKUAST-TAJ further hoped that State authorities would strengthen the only farm university by providing each and every basic amenity so that the scientists can perform well and meet the expectations of the farming community.
It was impressed upon that there should be clearance of all pending issues pertaining to the teaching fraternity with in shortest possible time.
The office bearers of the association apprised the president about various initiatives, which if implemented, can improve functioning of university and ensure efficient delivery of services to the farmers of the Jammu.
Conducting of General Body Meeting (GBM), speedy disposal of genuine transfer cases, setting up Dr Arun Gupta memorial award and allotment of Ph D students to Asstt Professors, were the other major issues discussed in this executive committee meet of SKUAST-TAJ.
During the meeting, Dr Vikas announced nomination of Dr Berjesh Ajarawat, SMS (Extension Education) as new executive of SKUAST-TAJ from KVK Kathua.
The meeting was attended by Dr Vivek Arya-general secretary, Dr Devinder Sharma-publicity secretary, Dr Rajeev Bharat-treasurer, Dr Jai Kumar, Dr Anil Bhat and other executive members.
