RashidSI Rashid Choudhary, International Fencer of J&K Police honoured with State Award for being outstanding Sports person J&K Government honoured SI Rashid Ahmad Choudhary, an International player of J&K Police with Prestigious State award on the occasion of Republic Day-2014 for being Outstanding Sports Person in Fencing. The State award carries Cash of Rs.51000, a Medal and a citation.
Born on August 20, 1980 at Jammu, Mr. Rashid Ahmad Choudhary, after his primary and Higher Secondary schooling in Dewan Badri Nath School, Jam mu and completing graduation from the University of Jammu in the year 2004, joined J&K Police as Sub Inspector under Sports Quota onAugust 28, 2006. He learned fencing from Fencing Coaching Centre, MA Stadium, Jammu.
A mongst his notew orthy achievements in Fencing, Rashi d Ahmad Choudhary has the distinction of being selected for the Core Group of probable for preparation of Asian Games held in China in November 2010. He has participated in World Senior Fencing Championship held at Leipzing, Germany from October 7 to 15, 2005. He participated in F.I.E International Fencing Training Camp held at St. Petersburg, Russia from September 20 to 28, 2007 in which other forty country of the world parti cipated. Mr Choudhary was the only Fencing Player from India selected by the World Fencing Federation (sFIE) for this camp. This followed his participation in World Senior fencing Championship held at St. Petersburg, Russia from September 28 to October 6, 2007.
