SEECC demands departmental audit of DDOs to prevent misuse of funds

JAMMU, Jan 2: A delegation of School Education Employees Co ordination Committee, Jammu province, called on CEO Kathua and demanded departmental audit of all DDOs to maintain transparency and prevent misuse of funds.
The delegation sought action against the officials responsible for misappropriation of funds, GPF, NPS, of teachers amounting to crores of rupees in Zone Malhar since 2007.
The delegation comprised of Amar Nath Thakur, provincial president SEECC; Satish Dutta, Yog Raj Singh, Tara Mani, Khushi Ram, Mohd Salim, Jagat Ram, Rajinder Kumar, Babu Ram and others.
As per SEECC, several departmental enquiries were conducted by Director School Education Jammu, CEO Kathua and DDC Kathua but no action was taken by the authorities against the employees responsible for the frauds, which were committed since 2007-08 to May 2013.
After enquiry of DDC Kathua, GPF of Masters/ ReT before 01-01-2010 amounting Rs 4 lacs of 70 teachers under NPS was credited into their GPF accounts, but 10 percent employees and State share of 46 ReT teachers, 6th Pay Commission arrears under SSA have not been credited of all teachers. In the enquiries ZEO Malhar’s account has been shown in deficit since 2010 till 09/2015. Further, ZEO Malhar informed that no record of SSA before 2010 was available in the office now. Even Income tax deduction official return has not been filed as a result IT Department has issued notices to teachers.
The SEECC has also appealed the Education Minister Naeem Akhtar and Commissioner Secretary School Education to take action and immediately suspend the officials responsible for the misappropriation.
