Bali takes appraisal of development works

JAMMU, Jan 2: Minister for Social Welfare, Forest, Ecology & Environment, Bali Bhagat today conducted an extensive tour of Raipur-Domana constituency and took stock of developmental activities.
During his tour, Minister visited Chinore, Kote-Bhalwal, Burn, Dhar Dharochan, Seri Panditan, Mishriwala, Gharota, Rajpora and Dumi.
At Chinore, the Minister dedicated a 100-KVA electric transformer worth Rs. 4 lakh out of his Constituency Development Fund (CDF). He also announced construction of a concrete causeway with approach road over the Chinore Nullah that connects over two dozen of villages with the Roop Nagar and other adjoining localities.
While interacting with the people, Bali assured them that the problems being faced by them would be taken up with the concerned authorities for early redressal.
At Panchayat  Kot, the Minister laid foundation stone of bathing Ghat on the bank of village Pond involving a cost of Rs. 4 lakh in convergence with MGNREGA and CDF.
On the occasion, he announced Rs 5 lakh for the development of the pond, a separate tubewell for the localities which are facing acute shortage of drinking water ..
Responding to the demand for up-gradation of road, he informed that 7.5 kms Kote-Kalakam-Burn-Pata road has already been proposed under NABARD with an estimated cost of Rs. 5.60 crore which will fulfill the long pending demand of the area.
He said that project is likely to be sanctioned very soon and work will start simultaneously. He further informed that an amount of Rs. 15 lakh has been spent on various developmental works in the Panchayat under MGNREGA and other schemes and a provision of another Rs. 25 lakh under the same scheme has been kept for undertaking the important works in the Panchayat.
At Panchayat Burn, the Minister distributed cheques amounting Rs. 6 lakh among 50 beneficiaries under Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) for construction of toilet units. He also inspected some on-going works in the locality under different programmes and directed the concerned to speed up the pace.
On the occasion, he apprised the people that an amount of Rs. 16 lakh has been spent under MG NREGA on various works for the development of the Panchayat and a provision of Rs. 70 lakh as supplementary grant has also been kept for undertaking the important works. He asked the Sarpanch Burn Panchayat to provide a list of 100 more beneficiaries for construction of toilets which will be accommodated during the current year.
Similarly, at Mishriwala and Sobka in Gharota, he laid foundation of bathing ghats to be constructed at an estimated cost of Rs. 4 lakh each under convergence scheme.
At Rajpora and Dumi, he inspected the sites for the construction of tubewells.
