JYF seeks Governor’s intervention to check mess in JU

JAMMU, Jan 2: Jammu Youth Forum has sought intervention of Governor N N Vohra for constitution of a committee to look into the different yardsticks being adopted by Jammu University in the cases pertaining to contractual lecturers.
In a statement, JYF president Mohd Akram Ahmed alleged that the office of Registrar agreed to grant six month extension in one go to Contractual lecturers of all the JU departments except DDE, which was treated step motherly.
“Contractual faculty of DDE was given extension for one month, again one month and then for two months as if they were alien in the university,” he alleged and added that the JU even went to the extent of withholding the salaries of contractual lecturer of DDE without citing any reason.
The JYF leader appealed the Chancellor to constitute a committee of trustful officers from outside the university so that factual position of prevailing mess in JU administration may be exposed and the guilty are punished.
