Electricity in hospitals

Sir,
It is really a sad affair in our State , that the need of supplying electricity  to the hospitals for 24 hours, which should have been a top priority of any Government,  has not been seriously felt by the authorities, even after many years of Independence, resulting into a serious and dangerous situation that a lady delivered baby under mobile lights  ( refer  the news item appearing  at  right bottom corner  on the front page   of  this paper on 26 Dec. Now whatever enquiry,  for the lapses , is ordered / made,  or whatever explanations are given/ made,  I think let us be bold enough to accept our unpardonable negligence  and from now onwards only,  we ensure that whether it is the  failure  on the part of medical authorities or the Electricity Department, religiously day and night , an uninterrupted  power supply to the hospitals  is doubly ensured so that such critical situations are not at all witnessed in future which endangers the life of the patients in the hospitals. It is just a matter of realising the importance of providing electricity to the hospitals otherwise it is not at all an impossible act. When we can guarantee the supply of electricity to our VIPs why not to the hospitals.  Hope and sincerely pray that  both,  our  Ministers of Health and Power  will  do their every bit for creating a  better situation in our hospitals whether in rural or in urban areas.
Yours etc….
