Subsidized food

Sir,
There are reports that the items of food served to members of our Parliament shall not be provided wholly on subsidized cost from now onwards. For long it was felt that the prices charged for food items in the canteen of our Parliament were unbelievably  cheaper as compared with the market prices. Also it was felt that the law makers were to create examples of simplicity and probity and themselves oppose such a concession to them when people outside the august House were getting the same at many times higher. When the Honb’le members were adequately paid , provided housing and other facilities of all hues , why they themselves were not opposing this undesirable concession in prices. The speaker of the Lok Sabha has ordered that there be a review of the pricing of the food items from time to time in order to provide these items on no profit  – no loss basis . At least it is better as compared to unjustified cheap prices for the members on these items and running the canteen on loss to be made good by the tax payers of this country. The media, the people are having  a keen insight into what happens around our country with more logic and clarity and more freely come out with criticism of those things which needed to be changed for good. The need of the hour is to perform more ably and without disruptions in the Parliament than asking  or hoping for undesirable concessions or pay hikes.
Yours etc
