17 injured in accidents

DODA, Jan 3: Seventeen persons were injured in two accidents on Kishtwar-Doda-Batote highway today.
The ill-fated vehicle bearing registration number JK02AW-1149 was on its way to Jammu when the driver lost control over the vehicle and it turned turtle near Assar.
After getting information, police team and locals rushed to the spot and started rescue operation. All the injured were shifted to Primary Health Centre (PHC) Assar in police and other vehicles, where their condition was stated to be stable, when reports last came in.
The injured have been identified as Bashir Ahmed, son of Mohammad Akbar of Tandla Gandoh, Mohd Amin, son of Ghulam Mohammad of Jakyass, Nazir Ahmed, son of Lal Rather of Gandoh, Abdul Rashi, son of Alyass Shaikh of Gandoh, Mohammad Yaseen, son of Bashir Ahmed of Gandoh, Imtaiz Ahmed, son of Atha Mohammad of Jakyass, Bilal Ahmed, son of Anyatullah of Tandla, Tasleem Arif, son of Abdul Rashid of Tandla, Khalid, son of Irshad Hussain of Tandla, Sajad Hussain, son of Ghulam Hussain of Tandla, Tariq Hussain, son of Dost Mohammad of Gudli Gandoh and Mohammad Ishaq, son of Abdul Rashid of Tandla.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Assar police station and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a Swift car bearing registration number JK02BB-2410 on its way from Kishtwar to Doda collided head on with a mini truck bearing registration number JK06-3602 at Karara, resulting into injuries to 5 persons.
On getting information, police team rushed to the spot and with the help of the locals shifted the injured to District Hospital Doda for treatment.
The injured have been identified as Shahid Khan, son of Din Mohammad of Kishtwar, Daleep Kumar, son of Kunj Lal of Pochal Kishtwar, Sunita Shan, daughter of Vinod Kumar of Bagana, Hina Kotwal, daughter of Rishi Kumar of Mlipaith Kishtwar and Nishikant, son of Subhash Chandar of Pochaal Kishtwar.
A case has been registered in this regard at Karara police post and investigation started.
