6.6 magnitude quake hits Myanmar-Indian border: no tsunami threat : INCOIS

HYDERABAD :  A strong 6.6-magnitude earthquake struck off the Myanmar-India border region at 4.30 AMtoday  but there was no  tsunami alert ,  Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS), said in its bulletin here.
The earthquake happened at about 10 Km depth on land part of Myanmar-Indian border region.
Based on historical earthquake and tsunami date, Tsunami threat does into exist for India, it added. (AGENCIES)
