Year -long millennium celebrations of Acharya Abhinav Gupt begin with Sankalap Divas

NEW DELHI, Jan 4: The year -long millennium celebrations of world famous scholar and a great Acharya of Shaivism, Abhinav Gupt started today with a solemn pledge by the participants to take his message forward.
The year long celebrations which started today will conclude on January 17 next year. The Sankalap Divas, besides the Union Capital was held at four places in the country simultaneously. At Delhi the function was held near Mandi House which was attended by three prominent personalities among hundreds of scholars. They included BJP MP and Chairperson NDMC, Meenakshi Lekhi, RSS Sangchalak for Delhi, Mr Ahuja and Vice Chancellor Shri Lal Bahadur Sanskrit University, Delhi Dr Ramesh Pandey.
The function was organized by Acharya Abhinav Gupt Sehasharabdi Samaroh Samiti headed by Sri Sri Ravi Shanker of Art of Living. During Sankalap Divas function Jawahar Lal Kaul its working president made the welcome address. The Samiti is the conglomerate of various social and religious organizations like Art of Living, J&K Study Centre, Jammu Kashmir Vichar Manch, (JKVM), Ishwar Ashram Trust, Sanjeevani Sharda Kendra (SSK)and Sanaskar Bharti.
The functions besides Delhi were held at SSK Jammu, Ishwar Ashram Trust, Mohinder Nagar, Jammu, Dharamshala, HP, Bangalore and Uttarakhand.
This great Shaivacharya who has no parallel scholar in the world was a genius and gem of gems. He was born in Kashmir 1000 years back. Though belonging to a great tradition Abhinav Gupt was ignored and his legacy could not be carried forward as it needed to be.
Sri Sri Ravi Shanker in his message on the Sankalap Divas said Abhinav Gupt was a great personality, a great philosopher and renowned literary critic who has no parallel in the world.
The scholars on the occasion said by going through his philosophy and scriptures one comes to know that Kashmir for centuries has opted for pen and not gun.  Also called incarnation of Lord Shiva, Acharya Abhinav Gupt best represents civilization ethos and remembering him on his 1000 year is totally in place because 21st century is the knowledge based century. His message should be taken to every person in the country and abroad, they added.
The three aspects of his personhood included recognizing ones own self as nation and as well as individual, he is the answer to the conflict between logic and faith and for him there is no difference in the two and in this contemporary conflict based world order Abhinav Gupt is most relevant authority to guide because he synthesis different view points meticulously.
The participants during the function demanded naming of Mandi House Circle in New Delhi after this great genius because his voluminous commentary and explanation on Bharat Muni’s Natishastra has also given him highest place among the art critics of the world. Since all the creative artists in India are linked to Mandi House hence it will be the best tribute to Abhinav Gupt to name the circle on him, they added.
In her address Meenakshi Lekhi not only lauded the efforts of the Samiti by recalling this great scholar and propagating his philosophy, promised to take the demand to appropriate forums.
The formal inaugural function will be held in Union Capital on February 13 by Sri Sri Ravi Shanker. It will be followed by five international seminars and 25 national seminars all over the country during the year.
In Jammu the function was held at SSK Bohri as Sankalap Divas  in which Justice (retd) G D Sharma was the chief guest while among other speakers included Prof K N Pandita, Swami Kumar Ji and Anand Swami Pran Nath Bhat Gareeb.
On the occasion Shiv Prasad Raina was announced the president of Acharya Abhinav Gupt celebration Committee J&K, Pardeep Koul as secretary and Maharaj Krishan Bhat as treasurer. The welcome address was given by Prof T N Shalla. The function was also attended by Parshotam Didichi a RSS leader, MLC Surinder Ambardar, Prof P N Trichal, B L Sarafand and Dr Gautam Mengi.
