Two-week faculty development prog concludes at SMVDU

JAMMU, Jan 4: Two-week faculty development programme titled “Carving Human Resources: Approaches and Procedures” at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University concluded on leaving the new areas of thinking for the participants.
The programme was designed to enable the participants to enrich their skill-sets with the help of instructional methods including lectures, laboratory work, research assignments, discussions, field visits, case studies, and other audio-visuals aids.
The programme was organized by School of Business, Faculty of Management with the financial support from All India Council of Technical Education. More than 50 faculty members of the FDP belonging to different parts of country including Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Himachal, Bihar, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Chandigarh, Tamil Nadu and Orissa attended the programme.
The training programme comprised of various interactive sessions including emotional intelligence, stress management, ethical issues in HR, conflict management, work-life balance, labour laws and employee branding through HRM, training and development, leadership, etc.
The resource persons from academia and corporate were Prof SK Jain, Vice-Chancellor, SMVD University; Prof Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor, Central University, Jammu, Dr Gurmeet Singh, University of South Pacific, Fiji Islands; Major General (Retd) Dhir, M Kumar, Addl CEO, Shrine Board, Deep Singh Gujral and Taranvir Gujral, TV Super Filter Industries, etc.
They shared their experiences with participants relating to management of Human Resources at their places. The idea of having resource persons from different backgrounds, workplaces, work culture and even different parts of the world made the FDP an interesting place of learning at SMVDU.
