SSC exams: DCs asked to keep vigil on distribution of confidential material

JAMMU, Jan 6: The State Government has impressed upon all the Deputy Commissioners to keep a strict vigil on the distribution of the confidential material during the conduct of examination, pertaining to the Staff Selection Commission, Government of India.
According to an official circular, issued by the General Administration Department,  J&K Government, the Deputy Commissioners/ District Magistrates, have been asked to ensure that under no circumstances, the confidential material examination venues before 9 a.m. in case of morning shift and 1 p.m in case of afternoon shift.
The direction has been issued in wake of the detection of malpractices at various examination centres, due to confidential material reaching the venue quite some time in advance before the start of examination.
Pertinent to mention that the Staff Selection Commission  has been entrusted with the task of making recruitment to various  Group B Non-Gazetted and Group C Non-Gazetted technical posts in various Ministries/Department of Government of India. The Commission conducts examinations through its regional offices in coordination with the State administration.
As per the procedure, the question paper bags etc are sent to the respective District Magistrates of various cities, who are designated as Question Paper Receivers.
In the last Constable GD examination-2015, a large number of candidates were caught indulging in malpractices at various examination centres. Similar malpractices were also detected during the conduct of Combined Higher Secondary Level examination-2014.
