Govt functionaries, judiciary, institutions condole death of Mufti Sayeed

JAMMU, Jan 7: The offices of various Government Departments, their wings, Judiciary, institutions and their heads have deeply condoled the death of Chief Minister Mufti Mohd Sayeed, who breathed his last this morning at AIIMS, New Delhi.
The Jammu and Kashmir High Court, led by Chief Justice, N Paul Vasanthakumar, has expressed heartfelt grief on the sad demise and condoled with the members of the bereaved family.
In a condolence message, it said that Mufti Mohammad Sayeed was known for his administrative skills and he carved out a place for himself in the history of not only the State of Jammu and Kashmir but the country as a whole. “His demise has created a great vacuum, which is difficult to be filled up. It has caused an irreparable loss to the entire populace of the country. May God give peace to his soul and courage to the family members to bear this huge loss,” the message added.
Sharing the grief of the State, Chief Secretary, B R Sharma and all Administrative Secretaries deeply mourned the demise of Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed. As a mark of respect, the Chief Secretary said, there shall be no official entertainment while the National and the State Flags shall fly at half mast on all Government buildings and places during this period.
The Chinar Corps Comma-nder, Lt General Satish Dua has expressed heartfelt condolence at the demise of Mufti Sayeed and prayed for grant of eternal rest to the departed soul.
In his condolence message, Lt General Satish Dua said that Mufti Sayeed was a leader with remarkable political acumen and statesmanship who had made rich contribution towards political firmament spanning several decades. The Commander also met Mehbooba Mufti and conveyed heartfelt condolences on behalf of the soldiers of Chinar Corps to the members of the bereaved family
J&K Public Service Commission held a condolence meeting and fondly remembered the vision and rich contributions made by Mufti Sayeed in strengthening the institutions of the State. The meet observed that the Commission shall always remember with gratitude Mufti Mohammad Sayeed as a friend, guide, who took keen interest in the development of the Commission.  The Commission also observed two minute silence to pay homage to the departed soul.
Vigilance Headquarters Jammu held a condolence meeting, which was attended by Alok Puri, IGP Vigilance J&K; Director Prosecution, AIG (HQ), AIG (Policy), AIG (Central) and all Branch SSPs alongwith officers and officials of Vigilance Organization. In the meeting rich tributes were paid and one-minute silence was observed for the eternal peace of departed soul.
Engineers and staff of Public Works (R&B) Department, Jammu held a condolence meeting, wherein tributes were paid to Mufti Mohd Sayeed. Chief Engineer, R&B Jammu, Alok Mengi, while paying homage, recalled the statesmanship of Mufti Sayeed. The meet also observed a two-minute silence in memory of the departed soul and prayed the Almighty for giving strength to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
In the condolence meeting by SKIMS Kashmir, verses from the holy “Quran” were recited and rich tributes were paid to the late Chief Minister Mufti Mohd Sayeed, who was described as a humble person rooted deeply in Kashmiri traditions and background.
Director SKIMS Prof Showkat Ali Zargar recalled Mufti Sayeed’s concern and commitment for the development and growth of SKIMS. The SKIMS staff that included its faculty, nursing staff, paramedical staff and administrative staff offered prayers to God to give the bereaved family strength to bear this irreparable loss.
J&K Sports Council Secretary Javed Shah, Vice-Chairman Jammu, Ranjeet Kalra, members and staff have also condoled the death of Mufti Mohd Sayeed, who was also President of the Council. The staff of Sports Council held a condolence meeting and expressed grief over the death. The meet observed two-minute silence in honour of the deceased and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
Condoling the death of Chief Minister and President Academy, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Dr Aziz Hajini has said that contribution of the departed leader to public service in general and J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages in particular will always be remembered. “It was under his patronage that we were able to reopen several important cultural centres which had remained closed for a long time due to one reason or the other,” Hajini added.
To mourn the demise of Mufti Sayeed, a condolence meeting of the employees of the Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneu-rship Development Institute was called by Director JKEDI, Dr Mohammad Ismail Parray in Jammu office of the institute.  Speaking during the condolence meet, Director JKEDI said the State of Jammu and Kashmir has lost a statesman and a visionary political leader committed towards welfare of common people.
Paying homage to Sayeed, special prayers were also offered for peace to the departed soul. All the participant employees of the institute shared their grief and expressed heartfelt sympathies with the bereaved family, especially PDP president, Mehbooba Mufti.
Central University of Jammu held a condolence meeting wherein the Vice Chancellor, Prof Ashok Aima expressed his deep sorrow and grief over the sad demise of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed. He said that Mufti Sayeed was a visionary leader and the void created by him cannot be filled.  All the Faculty and staff members observed a two- minute silence as a mark of respect to the departed soul.
SMVDU also mourned the sad demise of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed by holding a condolence meeting where rich tributes were paid to the departed leader.  The meeting was attended by the Vice Chancellor, all Deans, Directors, faculty, staff and students, who observed a two-minute silence.
The Vice-Chancellor, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu, alongwith all staff members of the University, has expressed grief and sorrow on the sad demise of Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, who was also Pro-Chancellor of SKUAST-J.  The Vice Chancellor observed that due to untimely demise of Mufti Sayeed,  the nation has lost a statesman while  the State of Jammu & Kashmir has lost a visionary leader who remained associated with the upliftment of the people of J&K.  A two-minute silence was also observed to pay homage to the departed soul.
SKUAST-Kashmir has also condoled the demise of Mufti Mohd Sayeed. A condolence meeting in this regard was held under the chairmanship of Vice-Chancellor Prof Nazir Ahmad. All the Teaching and  Non-Teaching staff, including Registrar, Controller of examinations and Deans of the University took part in the condolence meeting and paid homage to the departed soul.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate and all HoDs of Sub-Division Mahore, condoled the sad demise of Mufti Mohd Sayeed and prayed for peace to the departed soul as well as courage to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
Chief Education Officer Jammu and staff members of the CEO office held a condolence meeting and observed a two-minute silence for peace to the departed soul of Mufti Mohd Sayeed.
The staff and students of the Government College of Education, Jammu, held a condolence meeting and expressed grief over the sad demise of Mufti Mohd  Sayeed. The meet also prayed  the Almighty to grant peace to the departed soul and give courage to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss
The Principal, staff and students of Government MAM College Jammu held a condolence meeting and mourned  the demise of Mufti Mohd Sayeed. Describing Mufti Sayeed as a great visionary and dynamic leader, the meet observed that his death was an irreparable loss to the entire State.
Similar condolence meeting was held by the Principal, staff and students of Government College for Women, Udhampur. The meet prayed the Almighty for granting peace to the departed soul and giving strength to the bereaved family.
