The Pak propped and trained terrorists have once again dared to launch a full blown attack on our fighter air base of huge strategic significance at pathankot which is hardly 40 kms from the Pak border. Kudos to brave hearts of Indian Army who laid down their lives to avert any kind of damage to the Air base. Despite our genuine initiatives and serious efforts for ensuring a lasting peace between the two neighbouring countries, the Hawks in Pak are found to be immune to the voice of sanity and the pro peace elements if any on the soil of our bosom rival are glaringly subdued and weak kneed, may be passively working in unison with the monstrous war mongers. This brazen act of diplomatic and political jugglery has been going on continually with regular intervals to our disadvantage in terms of checkmating our steady progressive movement towards the international club of developed nations. Therefore, we as a strong and self reliant nation sharply need to prioritise our burning problems. As long as Pakistan keeps us engaged in the game of proxy war by maintaining their ever flourishing nursery of dreaded terrorists and meticulously infiltrating them into our territory through the vulnerable Indian borders, we shall keep on drowning in the quagmire of consumptive cancer of terrorism.
Hither to, we have not treated it as a top national priority but a routine Trans border activity with too fragile defensive response. We have not learnt any lessons from our past blunders since partition vis-a-vis Pakistan. Successive Govts have by and large relapsed into old ruts. There have been usual turnarounds from time to time in our diplomatic postures at the call of highly demanding situations despite excessive provocations from across the border. There is no use crying over spilt milk. The Govt in the driver’s seat need to adopt a proactive action oriented approach and avoid issuing hollow oral threats using metaphorical language. This is also call of the public mandate. They had started well but in due course of time moved back to beaten tracks of their predecessors. This is high time to change gears and display some gumption in tackling the hydra headed terrorism failing which it will bleed us to irreversible paralysis in terms of national entity.
