Five thieves arrested

JAMMU, Jan 10: Police arrested five thieves from Prem Nagar area and recovered stolen property worth Rs 2 lakh.
As per police sources, on specific information, police team conducted a raid in Prem Nagar area and arrested five thieves.
The accused have been identified as Sumit Sotra, son of Philips of Christian Colony, Sanam Bhagat, son of Ajay Kumar, Deepak Kumar, son of Pappu Kumar, Manan Mohammad, son of Roshan Ali and Bashir Mohammad, son of Roshan Ali, all resident of Prem Nagar.
On their disclosure, police recovered stolen property worth Rs 2 lakh.
With the arrest of the accused, police worked out a theft case registered under FIR Number 4/16 under Section 457 and 380 RPC with police station Peer Mitha.
Further questioning of the accused is going on to ascertain their involvement in other theft cases.
Police team led by SHO Peer Mitha police station Inspector Javed Malik and Incharge Gujjar Nagar police post SI Mohammad Rashid made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO City North Perbeet Singh Parihar, SP City North Shiv Kumar Singh Chouhan and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
