Woman killed, six injured in road mishaps

SRINAGAR, Jan 11: Police today said a woman died while six others were injured in three separate road accidents in North and South Kashmir.
A police spokesman said a Tata 407 vehicle bearing registration number JK02Q-8707 hit a pedestrian namely Zoona Begum at Onegam in Bandipora district, resulting in her serious injuries. “The injured lady was shifted to Bandipora hospital where she was declared brought dead. After completion of legal formalities body of the deceased was handed over to her relatives for last rites. Police have registered a case in this regard,” the spokesman said.
He said a Santro car bearing registration number JK02S-7869 collided with an unknown Sumo at Markundal in Sumbal area of Bandipora district, resulting in injuries to two persons. “Both the injured were shifted to JVC Hospital for treatment. Police have registered a case in this regard,” he said.
The spokesman said an I-10 Car bearing registration number DL2CAE-4839 on way from Anantnag to Srinagar met with an accident near DPL in Anantnag district, resulting in injuries to four persons boarding the vehicle including driver. “All the injured were shifted to the hospital for treatment. Police have registered a case in this regard,” he added.
